Come On Ya Smokey Ferret, Let's Go Training

Smokepaw groggily woke up at the sound of his mentor's voice. Wake up.. Training... Training! Smokepaw quickly blinked the sleep from his eyes and bounded out of the den towards the fresh-kill pile. He was beyond excited to begin his training. He quickly chose a small mouse. Smokepaw gobbled it up and buried the bones, turning and bounding over to his mentor. His tail lashed with excitement.

The mentor looked towards her apprentice as he trotted over towards her. Ferretheart had just finished training with Mousepaw yesterday, her bones ached but she knew that she needed to teach Smokepaw as he had been waiting long enough.

Ferretheart Thin out of the entrance with Smokepaw by her side, she smiled as she explained cheerfully what they were doing today. If you only heard her voice, you would be unable to tell she was tired, but her body language showed different signs to her apprentice. "We'll be learning how to battle and hunt today, Smokepaw." Ferretheart explained joyfully, "I let my apprentices chose first." The mentor mewed, "So, what will it be?"

Smokepaw happily padded alongside his mentor, seeing that she was tired. He knew she had just trained with his sister yesterday. He felt bad for her, having to train both of them. He heard her allow him to choose what they got to do. He knew exactly what he'd choose in an instant. "Battling!" he'd meow excitedly. His eyes sparkled with excitement, and he dug his sheathed paws into the ground. He couldn't wait!

Ferretheart laughed, noticing the toms difference between his sisters. Smokepaw was also very different from his father, the mentor couldn't say anything about the males mother because she had yet to speak to the queen.

The two were almost there when Ferretheart began to speak to Smokepaw about the warrior code, rambling on and on about how he could someday follow his father's pawsteps and take his place. ThunderClan had yet to pick a deputy, they were desperate and Smokepaw would do just fine. Ferretheart to see herself at his ceremony, being promoted to deputy and soon coming to camp one day as Smokestar. But that was yet to come, only StarClan had plans for the male, understanding it wasn't up to the she-cat to guide Smokepaw's path.

Ferretheart stopped, turning towards her apprentice as they had just arrived at their destination and she needed to ask the tom if he had any questions. "So, do you have any questions about the code?" She asked, a twinkle of fake happiness in her eyes.

Smokepaw listened to Ferretheart, listening to her every word. He already knew the code mostly, he just wanted to make sure he understood. He wished he could be deputy, or even leader. He wondered if another warrior would be chosen before then though. There would probably be at least one more leader before he could even dream of being a leader. He was too young. Once he was a warrior there should already be a deputy. Right?

He stopped when Ferretheart stopped. "I understand" he'd meow answering her question. He wanted to be able to fight so he could defend his clan.

Ferretheart nodded, "Alrighty then, let's get started." She mewed, unsheathing her claws and signalling Smokepaw to as well. "Show me what you know first, Smokepaw." She said in a challenging tone, "Pretend I'm Moonstar!" Ferretheart hissed, trying to show the tom how real she would be getting in this test fight.

There would be a flash of darkness in his eyes, followed by determination. He would quickly sprint at the larger cat, catching her off guard. His sheathed claws would gently press against her back as he took her down. He'd envision her as Moonstar, the one who attempted taking him away from his father. He'd slightly shudder, but wouldn't show it. Besides, the now dazed warrior couldn't see it anyway.

Ferretheart laughed, a little surprised at Smokepaw's actions but understanding it was the name 'Moonstar' that really got his paws moving. The mentor sheathed her claws fast enough that the apprentice probably wouldn't notice.The mentor shook her head, trying to get herself out of what was happening and also because she wanted to try and encourage the apprentices fighting behavior as Moonstar.

The mentor hissed as she tried her best to get back up again, failing. "I will destroy ThunderClan, kit!" She growled playfully, trying her absolute whole to make this voice sound like Moonstar's scratchy one.

Smokepaw would flick his ears at the taunts from "Moonstar". While Ferretheart was still dazed, he dashed forward trying to bat her in the face. The dazed she-cat had Thin her head at the last second, causing him to miss his hit. He hopped back and lashed his tail annoyed. He hated Moonstar, she tried to kidnap him! What type of cat does that! Fight him like a real cat won't you? He'd sigh, waiting for his mentor to fight back. He got into a more defensive stance.

Ferretheart smiled as she jumped back up, the she-cat knew the exact move she was to use and got to it right away. She had been eager to fight back, but she understood that being patient was something that needed to occur, even if she hated fighting. This was training though, and she did act differently when performing such moves with her apprentice's.

The she-cat had missed, creating a rather embarrassing strike at the apprentice as she tried to pin him down. Ferretheart had been wanting to show the apprentice how to do such an action, but it turns out she was a little weak that day and had been feeble when preforming her newest move. Ferretheart snarled at herself, trying her best to stay in her characters role, but understanding that Smokepaw was no kit, especially when it came to fighting.

Ferretheart used 'Pin' on Smokepaw, but was pushed off easily!

He watched Ferretheart trying to imitate Moonstar. It wasn't much like her, but close enough. He was enjoying this and maybe he could beat his mentor if he tried hard enough. He'd narrow his eyes while watching his mentor, then she jumped at him. She weakly attempting pinning him down, but he was able to power through it while keeping upright. He understood his mentor might be a little tired from training his sister.

He tried jumping close to her again and batting her face. Unfortunately he had missed again. He growled at himself, if he couldn't do a simple move he would get killed in a real fight! He hopped back and got into his defensive stance, hopefully he would land a blow next time he could attack.

Ferretheart had been stunned, she had no choice but to stand still and let her apprentice attack her. She was angry, at least while she was in character. The mentor wasn't at all mad at Smokepaw, just trying to express it as if she were Moonstar, which was obviously very angry when it came to the ShadowClan leader.

The mentor shook her head, trying to get a hold of herself as if she were getting defeated by a kit in a war. "You'll never defeat me, Mouse-Brain!" She hissed, trying her best to imitate Moonstar. She tried to swipe at Smokepaw, hoping to scatter a small bit of fear in him, knowing he was strong since the traumatizing patrol that her apprentice had been on. She wondered what it was like to be pinned by a warrior who was stronger than you, he had been pretty much forced to stay still, with she imagined was uncomfortable.

Smokepaw would watch the stunned she-cat. Seeing that she was too stunned to move, he went on the attack once again. He didn't respond to her taunts as Moonstar, he didn't want to talk about Moonstar. He disliked her, no more than that, he hated her. She tried to kidnap him, she wanted to use him as a pawn she could've killed him! He was grateful to the medicine cat and deputy though, even if he'd been fighting the deputy he could tell he was a part of letting him go. He wondered if the Shadowclan medicine cat was okay too. Moonstar sounded quite angry when they were leaving.

Smokepaw tried to put those thoughts to the back of his head as he yet again sliced his paw through the air. This time at the throat. Claws sheathed of course. Clearly he was too angry to think straight, because instead of the throat his paw sliced through the empty air to the left. He hadn't aimed correctly. He was furious with himself. He wanted to fight and he wanted to win. His mentor wouldn't be stunned for much longer.
