Brackenstar hadn't slept well the night before; his thoughts had been occupied with the hostility of the Gathering, and the tom worried what the animosity between ShadowClan and ThunderClan might mean for his own Clan. Nevertheless, time marched on, and Brackenstar had a new Apprentice to train.
The tom rose from his den and towards the Apprentice's den in search of Sunpaw. Brackenstar spotted the young tom's sandy tabby pelt amongst the other Apprentices and gently padded over, nudging Sunpaw gently. "Have something to eat and meet me by the camp entrance," the tom murmured quietly into the Apprentice's ear.
The leader turned and left the den, grabbing his own breakfast from the fresh-kill pile to finish while he waited for the tom to join him.
