Brackenstar had wanted to run perhaps to give chase to a rabbit or hare, but running for his life hadn't really been part of his plan. Still, it was better to run than have himself or his Clanmates throttled by a half-wild Twoleg abomination. The canine had taken the bait like a charm, its attention fully locked onto the golden-brown tom as they weaved across the moor. The most dangerous part of this plot was keeping the most effective distance; too close and the dog could easily grab an extremity, but too far and it may lose interest and notice the incoming attack from the other Warriors. Brackenstar had thought that he'd found the perfect medium. PAj6Jg2d At that moment, Brackenstar felt sharp claws brush against the back of his feet, hot breath on his flank as he heard the snap of jowls. Ah, he had been in a good position. He took the opportunity to kick out fiercely with his back legs, scoring the dog's face and chest. He didn't let relief cloud his judgment, though; he was still very much in danger, as were his Clanmates, but they were following their training perfectly. Brackenstar could smell dog blood, which meant at least one of them had gotten a successful hit. Jack Russell Terrier tried to use Slam, but failed, costing 20 stamina. Brackenstar used Rear Kick, doing 15 damage and costing 10 stamina.

Kestrelfang began to run as fast as he could, trying to catch up to Brackenstar and the Jack Russel Terrier which had been chasing his leader for moments now. He kept his claws unsheathed, beginning to jump onto the opponent and tackling the dog with all his might. He had hoped it would work, for he would be saving his patrol and proving what he was worth to Brackenstar.
The warrior had defeated the dog, tackling it as it rolled out onto The Thunderpath, running off like spared prey. Kestrelfang looked back to his patrol, breathing hard as he smiled at them, sheathing his claws and trotting back to the group, trying his best to look strong and tall like usual.
Kestrelfang used 'Running Tackle' on JKR, damaging -15 and costing -15 stamina.

Brackenstar's ears flicked as he heard the shuffling of fur through grass, followed by a shriek from the dog. The creature halted its pursuit and Brackenstar slowed to a halt, quickly turning to check on his Clanmates. Kestralfang's fluffy black coat was spiked from the run and tussle, but the young warrior himself, though out of breath, was standing tall and proud. Brackenstar dipped his head to him and rumbled, "You did very well, Kestrelfang."
With the short compliment, the WindClan leader meowed to his patrol, "That was plenty of excitement for one day, in my opinion. Let's head back to camp." He flicked his tail and, without waiting for a response, began to stride back towards the heart of WindClan.

"Kestralfang, you did great," Petalwish managed to say, a bit too star struck to say much else. In addition to his prior nervousness, e now felt a bit ashamed about not being able to help more. Following Brackenstar back towards camp, he hoped that eventually he would be able to make this up to his clanmates.

Kestrelfang bobbed his head, which he did quite often. "Thanks." He mewed, looking towards Petalwish but meaning it to both of his hunting companions.
With that energizing chase, the male was clearly agreeing with his leaders decision to go back to camp, for a case of inertia was to only be cared for by a long nap, which Kestrelfang would find himself grateful for. And with that, the warrior padded behind his leader, Brackenstar, and trying to show as much energy as possible.

Brackenstar passed by the bird which Kestrelfang had skillfully caught earlier, giving the newly appointed Warrior the opportunity to collect it on their way home. The patrol Thin quietly now; Brackenstar had been thinking about the dog that had begun to chase them, and how well his Clanmates had remembered their training and executed the moves - both of them. Kestrelfang may have dealt the final blow which scared the creature off, but Petalwish had been there as well.
As they neared the camp, Brackenstar said to them, "You have both done very well and worked hard. WindClan is lucky to have you, as am I." He dipped his head to them each, gratefully, and added, "Make sure you eat and rest." Brackenstar squeezed through the gorse tunnel back into camp, padding slowly away towards his den.
