The Raven's Mallow [Closed]

Ravenheart had been patrolling the border by himself. It gave him time to think and allowed him to mark any spots missed by the earlier patrols. Was it dangerous? Perhaps. Ravenheart enjoyed the time to himself nevertheless. The black tom padded along the Thunderpath, spotting the occasional monster passing by. The smell they gave off made his nose wriggle in disgust.

Ravenheart decided to cross over to Fourtrees, he wasn't tired and had nothing better to do. He'd place one paw on the Thunderpath not feeling any trembles from monsters. He decided to bound across, and did so unscathed. As he got closer to Fourtrees he began to smell a Skyclan scent, and decided to investigate.

Mallowdrop's eyes had been closed when she began to hear a soft swishing in the distance along with the scent of a ShadowClan cat. Her ears perked, but eyes remained closed as she knew that the stranger would pass directly under her, not noticing her unless they had come to see the she-cat for some reason.

The warrior began to panic as she opened her eyes to see a sharp black pelt beneath her. It seemed like the cat had noticed her scent along the way of going somewhere, perhaps travelling with a patrol. Oh StarClan, please don't say that he brought a patrol... the she-cat thought, knowing she must try to escape. Being in this tree would be no use... Mallowdrop kept in her mind, I have to go down... The thought was quite horrible, the feeling of a near death haunted her mind as she began to jump down branch to branch from The Great Oak. But her grip wasn't strong, her large body and fur being too much for her to hold up, leading to her fall onto the dirt ground. The she-cat squealed with pain, trying to lift her self up in time but unsuccessfully getting back up. She laid there, the intense throbbing on her front paw hurt badly, all she could do was hope that this cat was nice.

Ravenheart would be under the canopy of the Fourtrees, he was annoyed with himself. Where was that scent coming from? He'd here slight sounds from above, perhaps prey.. Then he'd hear the thump and the cry of pain. His ears would swivel around and his eyes would narrow as he turned to see the Skyclancat on the ground.

The black tom would quickly approach the cat, senses on high alert despite the fact that he most likely wouldn't need to fight. "Do you need help?", he'd ask, monotonous as he spoke to the injured cat knowing she probably did. It was polite to ask though. 

Mallowdrop looked at the ShadowClan cat, recognizing him from the recent gathering. It had been Moonstar's deputy, Ravenheart. The she-cat could sense the toms interest in her wounds as he spoke, noticing he had been calm through out the whole thing. "Su-sure." Mallowdrop mewed, trying her best to get back up but failing. This is just like being a kit again... the she-cat thought to herself, troubled in her attempts at standing up. But she was too embarrassed to be helped by this deputy, so she had to make at least a strong impression. So, she put her usable front paw down in order to lift herself up for a little bit, pushing herself to put her hind legs up correctly. But, she hadn't been able to 'stand' for long, collapsing once more as she had still been recovering from a smaller, but more recent fall that she had done last time she was here. Great... Mallowdrop thought, deciding to just stay down on the ground instead of trying to help the tom get her up.

Once closer, he discovered he knew this cat. She was a Skyclan cat named Mallowdrop. Perhaps we spoke once? He'd set these thoughts out of his mind for now, she was injured and he should help her. He'd allow her to attempt to help herself up, and failing. He'd think silently for a moment before meowing out his solution. "If you could actually try doing that again, instead of trying to stand put your weight on my shoulder." He'd meow this out without skipping a beat, logic had its perks.

Mallowdrop sucked in her breath as she follow the toms instructions. The she-cat did it again, lifted up her front leg and using it to balance herself. Then, Mallowdrop used both her hind legs to lift her up a little more, beginning to lean a little bit on the somewhat familiar deputy. She felt bad, wasting this toms time was all she was doing, being deputy was a big job, so why be with a helpless SkyClan cat just to lift her back up? Mallowdrop lifted up the injured paw that she had acquired along her way down The Great Oak. She sighed, looking over to the tom and giving a closed smile. Her eyes were also shut,or a brief second, showing her gratitude, she began to speak. "Thank you." She purred, "But why? You're a ShadowClan deputy...not a SkyClan member..." Her voice drifted off from her confusion, her smile now turned into a small frown, feeling bad for the male.

"Well, I helped you because it was the right thing to do. It doesn't matter what clan you're in. You were injured, and I was here." He'd say, attempting to not show any emotion in his voice. As he said this he had seen her frown as well. "Is something the matter? Are you hurt somewhere else?" He'd meow, hoping he didn't sound as worried as he did in his head. He had seen her gratitude earlier, but now he was something was bothering her. Ravenheart was confused with himself, why would he sound worried and why would he care what was bothering her? She was a Skyclan cat and he was a Shadowclan cat there was nothing wrong with helping her back to her own territory.

Mallowdrop had never been like this before. She usually was her playful and flirty self, but something was just a little different. She shook the frown away, "Uh, nothing." She mewed, trying to lock away whatever was happening in her emotions right now. She wasn't the type to not say anything, she was actually quite the opposite. "I'm just not acting right at the moment." Mallowdrop mewed, but she hint towards the tom that it wasn't the pain in her paw that was the issue. "I usually don't act like this around cats." She explained, "Perhaps you're different." The warrior mewed, looking up at the tom with a sweet and caring style.

Ravenheart was struggling to hide his emotions at this point. He wanted to just smile at her, but he couldn't. He didn't need to be friends with a Skyclan cat, let alone even begin to have feelings for one! He was curious when she said this wasn't how she normally acted, maybe because she was injured? He'd feel worried again, until she said "Perhaps you're different." He'd look down at her, this time with a smile on his face. "Perhaps you are too." While he couldn't be entirely sure if she felt the same way he did, he thought she was beautiful. Maybe he couldn't say it but he thought it, even though it was against the code. Maybe it wasn't logical, but love isn't logical.

Mallowdrop looked away, coloring coming to her face that was quite noticeable. But, she suddenly started laughing at herself, looking back to the tom after some time of looking away. Her eyes glimmered as she began to speak, "You're funny!" She mewed, "No one ever says that to me." She said, looking down a little bit. But immediately when back to her original personality. "Maybe we're just right for each other." She purred, making to move to paw at his nose a few times.

He'd widen his eyes, I'm funny? what kind of witchery  He'd feel his black pelt heating up in a blush. Ravenheart would start laughing too, then would close his eyes as she pawed at his nose. "Yeah, I think we are just right together." He'd chirp out happily. He'd look down at his paws, then back in her eyes. No longer were his features stone, he looked quite happy. His amber eyes burned in delight, then he'd smell the air, noticing they were nearly back at the Skyclan border. He'd flick his tail quietly, and would continue looking ahead so they'd not run into a tree or anything.

Mallowdrop Thin her head back over to Ravenheart's eyes, realizing they were almost back as well. "We should meet again after this is done." Mallowdrop insisted, moving closer to Ravenheart as she spoke. "I enjoy spending time with you, despite all the embarrassment I go through when I do the wrong things." She purred, laughing sightly at herself. Several moments passed before Mallowdrop spoke again. "I've never seen myself with a different clan cat before, talking like this and whatnot." She laughed, "But maybe now it's more clear," She began, "StarClan brought us together for the right reasons."

He'd look at her with a soft gaze. "We should" he purred. "Starclan truly did bring us together. I respect the code but I believe I've fallen for you though. So the code at the moment could be mouse dung for all I care." He'd smile nervously again, these feelings were quite new to him. "Is your paw alright enough to get you back to your camp?" He'd say, back to seriousness. His ears flicked nervously, he needed to get back to camp before the sun rose or else cats would be worried. He didn't want them following his scent to Skyclan anyway, tensions were already high enough between them and Thunderclan.
